Florida State Seminoles coach Mike Norvell got some bad news as a five-star quarterback recruit made a career announcement.
Five-star quarterback Keisean Henderson has been committed to Houston, but has still been visiting campuses, despite the recruitment. However, as he was soon set to visit Florida State, Henderson shut down his recruiting, Hayes Fawcett of On3 reported.

“I felt the love from day one and I feel like there is nowhere I would rather be,” Henderson said.
According to On3, Henderson is a five-star recruit in the class of 2026 and has been committed to Houston. He’s from Houston, Texas, and will stay close to home in college.
Henderson is the third-ranked prospect and second-ranked quarterback in the class of 2026. He was the MVP of the Navy All-American Bowl in 2025 as he scored on two of his three drives at quarterback.
Mike Norvell looking to silence critics at FSU in 2025
Florida State won the ACC two years ago but didn’t make the college football playoff, in large part due to the injury to starting QB Jordan Travis.
In 2024, Florida State struggled and went 2-10 and are looking to build off of that in 2025. Ahead of the season, Mike Norvell has confidence in his group that they will be able to have success and compete for a playoff spot this season.
“I’m proud of this place, I’m proud of our program, and the work that we’re putting in and I’m excited about where it’s going,” Norvell said, via News4JAX. “It’s one of those things, you never get too high when you’re living high and obviously when you get knocked down it’s about how quick you can get up and continue to push moving forward.
“We are moving forward and I have great expectations for what’s in front of us. We’re going to work every day to go make that our reality.”
Norvell believes the young players have developed well and are ready to take another step next season. But, Florida State will have a tough test right out of the gates, as the Seminoles open their season on Aug. 30 against Alabama.
Florida State will have notable games against Miami, Pitt, Clemson, NC State, and Florida.
