The Traitors season 3 remains one of the biggest TV series to air this year, with previous instalments clocking up multiple awards and smashing ratings records. Therefore, fans will be pleased to hear that a brand new celebrity edition of the show is officially in development.
News of the project was first reported by Deadline in April 2024, and the show was officially announced by the creators back in August 2024.
So far, all three seasons of the British edition of The Traitors have featured ‘ordinary civilians’. However, the American version has already mixed stars with members of the general public, while seasons 2 and 3 featured celebrities exclusively.
It seems that the BBC has decided to follow in the footsteps of Peacock in the US and create a version with big names. Here’s everything we know so far about the brand-new instalment of The Traitors.

What will Celebrity Traitors be about?
The formula of the series will likely be similar to the version with ‘civilians’.
Celebrities will be locked up in a castle in the Scottish Highlands, competing for a cash prize. However, a few ‘Traitors’ will be hidden in the group – they will plot and ‘murder’ other participants. Therefore, the ‘Faithful’ will have to discover who the ‘traitors’ are and vote them out of the game.
