Darren Criss’ wife, Mia Criss, has been by his side long before his rise to fame.
Darren met Mia through mutual friends in 2006, however, they didn’t start dating until around July 2010 — a few months before he first appeared on Glee. (Darren starred as Blaine Anderson on the Fox series from 2010 to 2015.)
“I didn’t know I was going to be on TV when we started dating,” Darren said in a 2013 interview with KiSS 92.5.
After seven years of dating, Darren proposed to Mia in January 2018. The twosome went on to tie the knot in February 2019.
“This feels right. Married. The idea of marriage was not something I gravitated to earlier in life,” he told People in April 2020. “It’s almost painfully cliché but boys grow up slower. Girls just mature faster. This is science. I am definitely no exception. I will say this: I dragged my feet. But, we were together for a long time before. By that point in our lives, it was a validation and sharing of our life and existence. In many ways, it’s not been a change at all.”
Following their wedding, the couple welcomed daughter, Bluesy Belle, in April 2022 and son Brother László in June 2024.

In January, Darren and Mia announced their engagement after seven years of dating.
“Mia and I have had seven and a half years of fun, wacky, wonderful, CRAZY adventures together,” he wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of the pair. “And I’m happy to announce that we’re kicking those adventures up a notch. We’re goin for it. To boldly go where neither of us have gone before. Engage.”
That same year, the lovebirds went into business together and opened a show tunes piano bar in Hollywood called Tramp Stamp Granny’s.

Us Weekly confirmed that Darren and Mia tied the knot in New Orleans.
“That was one of the most incredible events of my entire life,” Darren later told People in April 2020. “The most magical experience. Say what you will about the construct of marriage and tradition: weddings are amazing.”

“We have been the ultimate plus-ones out here for each other for 10 years,” he shared with People. “My dreams and ambition have always been the driving force in my life. It was the gas in my tank. “We’ve been making music for years,” Darren wrote via Instagram alongside snaps of the pair in the recording studio listening to an ultrasound. “But this time we made a BEAT. The ultimate collab droppin Spring 2022.”

Mia was by Darren’s side at the Tony Awards, where he was up for Best Leading Actor in a Musical and later won.
“The real hero about this remarkable journey is my wife, Mia, who took a massive swing on allowing me to do this and allow this crazy upheaval in our life to make this logistically possible and for bearing the brunt of raising two tiny friends under three, so that I could raise a singing robot at the Belasco Theatre eight times a week,” he said in his speech. “Mia, you are the very pedestal that upholds the tiny, spinny-bit of our lives and your love and support for me and our beautiful children — combined with the miracle of working on something as magical as Maybe Happy Ending as been, and has always been award enough.”
