Before her buzzworthy relationship with Twilight costar Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart was in a private romance with Michael Angarano.
The twosome met while filming the 2004 film Speak where Angarano starred as Stewart’s onscreen love interest. They reportedly began dating the following year.
Although they mostly kept their relationship under wraps, Stewart and Angarano did make a few rare appearances together, including the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.
After four years of dating, the pair reportedly split in 2009. Stewart later dated Pattinson from 2009 to 2013 before moving on with Alicia Cargile from 2014 to 2016. The Twilight actress was also linked to St. Vincent, Soko, Stella Maxwell and Sara Dinkin before she started dating Dylan Meyer in 2019. The couple tied the knot in April 2025.
Angarano, for his part, dated Juno Temple from 2013 to 2016 before starting a relationship with Maya Erskine in 2019. The twosome welcomed a son in 2021 before tying the knot in 2024. They welcomed a baby girl that same year.
Despite their split, Stewart and Angarano remained friends, reuniting for the 2025 film Sacramento.

“I’ve known Kristen since we were like 12 years old,” Angarano told Variety, noting that Stewart was his top choice for the role. “We did not write it with Kristen in mind.
