Kristin Cavallari poked fun by saying she hates Lo Bosworth more than Lauren Conrad — but where do the former Laguna Beach costars stand now?
During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly on Wednesday, June 4, Cavallari, 38, addressed an answer she gave to a fan on Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour about whether she liked Conrad, 39, or Bosworth, 38, more.
“I mean, I’m going to play that game. I’ll answer that question. You know what I mean?” Cavallari explained about her decision to name Bosworth. “I think everyone sort of knows my history with Lo and the whole Birkin bag drama, so I don’t think that’s any shock to people who really understand the history.”
Cavallari clarified, however, that she has “zero beef” with Bosworth. “That doesn’t even cross my mind,” she noted. “You know what I mean? But I’ll play the game and answer the question for fun.”
The premiere episode of Cavallari’s E! series got off to a wild start on Wednesday when Cavallari was grilled about her respective friendships with Conrad and Bosworth. After managing to dodge a question from her podcast tour guest Kim Zolciak-Biermann about which costar she would rather spend the night in prison with, Cavallari was put on the spot later at a fan meet-and-greet.
“So, is it Lauren or is it Lo?” the fan asked, to which Cavallari replied, “I hate Lo more if you can believe it or not.”

Reality TV fans are well aware of the history between the trio after their time on Laguna Beach and The Hills. The franchise started with Laguna Beach, which premiered in 2004 and focused on the personal lives of high schoolers from Orange County. While Cavallari was initially more at odds with Conrad, a rift grew between her and Bosworth when MTV expanded the show with The Hills.
Cavallari previously claimed that The Hills producers “bribed” her costars to say that she was doing drugs to spice up her story line when she joined the show in season 5. According to Cavallari, Bosworth allegedly asked for a Birkin bag for spreading the misinformation on screen.
“She never ended up getting the Birkin. You need to get that s*** in writing!” Cavallari quipped during an interview with Us in May 2016. “It ended with all of the girls and I, our managers, agents, producers and lawyers in a room. I was told it wasn’t going to be a story line, and sure enough, it was on the first episode [of season 6].”
While reflecting on her reality TV journey, Bosworth pointed out that frequent interference from producers affected the dynamics on and off screen.
“We were very young women constantly put into compromised situations where we had to blood-sport it out against each other to get through a day of production,” she claimed during an appearance on the “Just B With Bethenny Frankel” podcast in April 2024.
Bosworth recalled having a “very specific role” that allowed her to keep a distance from the drama, adding, “I think that everybody’s doing really well, everybody is really friendly. And Laguna’s a kind, nice version of reality TV, right? You get to The Hills and it’s, like, a much bigger impact from a drama and trauma perspective.”
Over the years, Bosworth transitioned into running her wellness brand Love Wellness while Cavallari has built her own empire, which included making her reality TV return with Very Cavallari and now Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour.
“I know I’ve said a million times that I would never go back. I sort of stand by that because this is not a show about just my day-to-day life. I was already going on a podcast tour and so I just thought, ‘Why not let cameras come along?’ I filmed the entire show in two weeks, which is unheard of,” Cavallari told Us on Wednesday. “So in a lot of ways, I didn’t really have to bend these cameras. It’s a docuseries in the best sense of the word — in that they just followed us.”
Cavallari had a blast filming on her own terms, adding, “They let us do our thing. They never stepped in to tell us what to say or what to do. In a lot of ways, it was really enjoyable but it was also really easy and the cameras really did feel like flies on the wall. I’m really happy I went back because this is the most fun I’ve ever had on a show.”
Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour airs on E! Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
